Talking Will Nick At Nite Rise Again?

Has anybody noticed that Nick at Nite is getting steadily worse?

Family Ties & Three's Company have BAD Time Slots.

All In The Family's still holding on.

And according to folk at www.sitcomsonline.com, N@N is:

The Cosby and Cheers Network.

Now about Coach:

Coach is OK; its servicable, but doesn't generate the Buzz in the Mainstream Media. Lets say that at best its adequete. A Loaner From TBS as is:

Rosanne. I still wonder if Rosanne is appropriate for Nick at Nite??? After all, they'll have to skip a LOT of material. Rosanne is a Real Work, I'll tell you. And its more suited for Adult Viewing. So:

Who will get bumped off for Coach & Rosanne? I'm betting Family Ties and maybe AITF. Three's has a few years to go on their contract and the other 2 shows (Cosby N Cheers) are Hot for a "Push".

Amen.

And yes Rosanne's another loaner from TBS.

And Full House is not far behind. Yep Turner again.

Amen.

Other questions:

When will Brady Bunch rise again? Its hiatus should be over by now.

For that matter where's the rights to:

Facts of Life (last seen on Slick Nick)

Empty Nest (last on WGN & TBS a LOOOONNNGGG Time Ago)

Incredible Hulk (SciFi; I'm a sucker for David Banner)

Perfect Strangers?

Silver Spoons?

Come on TV People, get these out of the vault already! Among others I'm sure.

Are there any other missing shows you can think of?

I have another new name for Nick at Nite:

TBS Junior.

Amen.

Now of the 5 Shows:

Cheers and Cosby Show need to be toned down a bit. 4 Shows A Night Is Ridiculous Under Any Circumstances except for special Marathons, which should be like 'Nectar's Ambrosia' to the Homo Sapiens that are Humans that are Oxygen Processors. For:

Pure Oxygen breathed in
Carbon Dioxide breathed out

Is THE WAY to go.

And the People said:

Amen.

Realize also that the "Oversaturation" rate of Cheers and Cosby is making the "Quadruple" Takes Lame. See in my area, Cheers and Cosby are Widely Syndicated...in the Vernacular that means they're "Watched A Lot!". Please cut down on the Cosby & Cheers Fest if you will.

All In The Family. A Loaner from TV Land occupying space on N@N. I like this show in a decent adult time slot; be that as it may, however, this raises another ? Mark.

Why do some shows deemed as "controversial' on the N@N/TNN gravy train, like Diff'rent Strokes and Facts of Life for example, get skipped? Of course I posted earlier that this mystery could have to do w/a Government grant given to Viacom, etc. Be that as it may, All In The Family is a Controversy EVERY Show!!! Now then for the Spectra In Analysis:

Notice that AITF is rated PG but the above mentioned "censored" shows Diff'rent Strokes and Facts of Life among others I'm sure were rated G. I'll bet this is why N@N and TNN skip shows w/"controversy" in them. As you know by now, this is a right Stupid Policy.

Amen.

Now Family Ties and Three's Company.

Lousy Time Slots and I do mean LOUSY. Its obvious N@N has no interest in this brand and is instead wanting to drown the Populace in Cosby and Cheers. So then:

A Quick 5 Fold Ministry for Rebuilding Nick At Nite will be Posted:

Like later.

Amen.

For now lets Contemplate the Essence.

Of a Network Gone Wrong.

Scooby Dooby.

I don't think Family Ties will get bumped, I think it will just keep on having bad timeslots...

Did Family Ties get bad ratings or something? Seems that way if you look at how N@N's treated it. I just don't know. Its weird.

Uh oh. Fred McGriff's hitting for the Cubs.

Gotta run.

No, Family Ties got good ratings, but so did Three's Company and look at the timeslot that has... I guess Cheers and The Cosby Show are more important to N@N.

I have another new name for Nick at Nite:

TBS Junior.

First off, Nick at Nite/TV Land has always picked up TBS shows. The Jeffersons, The Andy Griffith Show, Gilligan's Island (still running on TBS as well), Gomer Pyle, Cosby Show, Three's Company, Bewitched, Brady Bunch, Family Ties, Beverly Hillbillies, among many others; and Coach and Roseanne coming soon.

I think Coach isn't too popular for Nick at Nite, it wasn't that much of a hit either. When TBS got the rights, they aired it at 7 and 7:30, and the ratings were terrible, so they put Andy Griffith at that time and moved Coach to 6am, and it worked.
As for Roseanne, it should come to Nick at Nite, but not for another, say 6-7 years?
They should air Perfect Strangers, ALF, Silver Spoons, Head of the Class, Night Court, etc first.

Full House, a show I think should stay on TBS or ban it from syndication, it is coming to Nick in 2004, hopefully it is just NICKELODEON. Fresh Prince and Sabrina are coming the same year as well. I'm sure Sabrina will just be Nickelodeon.

Brady Bunch never was sitten down. TV Land airs it now. That and The Jeffersons moved to TV Land. Although both still air on Nick at Nite on specials.
As for Facts of Life, I think contract problems is the factor. I think they have limited air plays for that one. TNN should bring it back now, it is about time anyway, almost a year next month.
Empty Nest would be a good show for Lifetime, that and it's spinoff Nurses.
Contact Sci-Fi about Hulk, they usually air it from time to time.

Perfect Strangers is in the Viacom vault, part of that 40 show WB Deal that Viacom hit in April 2000. Perfect Strangers has aired on Nick at Nite and TV Land on a few occaisons as a result of that.

Silver Spoons--could that be one of the 20 shows from the Screen Gem deal? If so, maybe we will see it on TNN or Nick soon? It aired for a month last March on Nick.

I know Three's Company was stellar in the ratings. They just moved it back in favor of Cheers.
As for Family Ties, it could very well be declining ratings. Since All in the Family came back from Nick at Nite latenight to replace it. They should give Family Ties a good slot again this fall to redeem itself, 9:30 would be good.
Something like:
9pm Cosby Show
9:30p Family Ties
10p Cheers
10:30p Coach (I really think this is the earliest slot it can get)
11pm Three's Company
11:30p All in the Family

Then Double Takes...
12-1 Cosby Show
1-2 Cheers
2-3 Coach
3-4 Family Ties
4-5 Three's Company
5am All in the Family

Nick at Nite should rise again with the following schedule:

8:00 pm "The Brady Bunch"
8:30 pm "The Wonder Years"
9:00 pm "Perfect Strangers"
9:30 pm "The Andy Griffith Show"
10:00 pm "Happy Days"
10:30 pm "Laverne & Shirley"

11 pm - 2 am repeat

Look out, network television!

Nick at Nite (aka the Double C Network, aka The Cheers Network, aka The Cosby Network) is taking a major downfall since (IMO) the great schedule they had this time last year. They made a pretty risky move when they took "Three's Company" and put it on at a lousy slot that years before were for shows that had been on the network usually two years at the least, esp. since TC was at one time they're biggest ratings maker. "Family Ties" is a good show, but N@N moved it out pretty fast to the grazing grounds. "Cheers" and "The Cosby Show" are good ratings, but they cater more to one crowd then the old primetime shcedule did.

The thing that really screwed Nick @ Nite up could be 2 things.

1) Double Take- Would save so much time if they cut double takes and show a variety of shows. Double Take works for tvland because it is a 24 hour station- N @ N isn't so it grows tired to see the same stuff every day.

2) New Show= Running it into the ground (Self Explanitory I think)

Hey Robert, if you like The Incredible Hulk- Check out this site

It has a message board so you can chat with other hulk fans. I'm a Bixby fan too. I don't think the new Hulk movie will be as good as the show though. jmo

What Nick at Nite should do is backtrack. They're moving ahead way to fast and they're jumping past so many great shows leaping into the late 80's and early 90's.

First of all they should do away with the double takes. This is what is making Nick at Nite have no variety. They need to spread the shows out. And cut back on Cheers, which is being overplayed to the hilt.

2nd, they need to forget Roseanne and Coach, at least for now, and pick up shows that have been forgotten. Especially shows from the late 70's and early 80s. (i.e. Good Times, One Day at a Time, Alice, Gimme a Break, Silver Spoons, Webster)

3rd, bringing The Facts of Life back would do nothing but improve the lineup.

Thus a schedule like this would make Nick at Nite a much better channel to watch:

8:00 Silver Spoons
8:30 The Facts of Life
9:00 The Cosby Show
9:30 Family Ties
10:00 Good Times
10:30 One Day at a Time
11:00 Cheers
11:30 All in the Family
12:00 Three's Company
12:30 Silver Spoons
1:00 The Facts of Life
1:30 The Cosby Show
2:00 Family Ties
2:30 Good Times
3:00 One Day at a Time
3:30 Cheers
4:00 Three's Company

4th, once the contracts of the shows that have been on Nick at Nite for awhile, comes to an end, bring in Alice, Gimme a Break, Webster, which would make a gradual entry into the mid to late 80's, which would then prompt the arrival of Mr. Belvedere, and (if available, Growing Pains, Who's the Boss?, The Golden Girls) followed by Roseanne and Coach.

you know boechsner, that line up doesnt look half bad. but they gotta squeeze Diffrent strokes in there somewhere. what they should do is run the same episodes again like your schedule sez. for example, Silver spoons is on at 8, they should air that same episode of Silver spoons at 12:30 like you said.
