When the Lump is planning on having a party the Cleavers are amazed that Fred would let him have a party. Well in an episode in season 4 Wally says that Mr. Rutherford comes down in his bathrobe and turns off the gas fire to let everyone know the party's over. Then in Wally Goes Steady June mentions how Wally took Evelyn to the Rutherford party. I guess Lumpy was a swinger.

Poor Lumpy had it rough. Imagine having Fred as a father (ya big boob!)...

I know and Lumpy had such respect for Daddy Fred. How he says he can't get his pants dirty as he borrowed them from Daddy. How about in Wally's Practical Joke when Wally and Eddie ask Mr. R. not to let Lumpy assist them. "Oh I see what you mean. (To Lumpy) And don't practice that tuba your mother is taking a nap." In Beaver's Rat love when Lumpy says there's nothing to do, he read all his comic books and nothing on TV. Fred yells- Go read a book. Lumpy says don't get mad at me just because Violet got gypped.

Lumpy probably SHOULD have gone on and joined the Merchant Marine. (Yes, sir, I know my boy!)

He really should have joined. He needed to get away from Skinhead.

"And stop calling me daddy...you're too old for that!"
"Now, son, get back to your calculus." (For Langley to hear.) (Then when Langley was not listening, it was probably back to big boob...) And what were some of the choice quotes when "skinhead" learned the Lump didn't get the athletic scholarship? |

Fred was humiliated when Lumpy wasn't getting the scholarship. All he thought about was how he felt. Then gets stern with Ward for not seeing it his way.
Love in Merchant Marines how he wants his son to be comfortable in his environment. |
