In 2005, Warner Bros started including bonus DVDs (commemorative DVDs) in the boxed sets of various TV show seasons released on DVD at the time. I remember the first season of Fresh Prince had a bonus disc that included the pilot of Family Matters on it, I know the episode was a syndicated cut, but was the Orignial Theme Song for the pilot included.
I lost my copy of that bonus disc and those DVD sets have been reissued and no longer contain the bonus discs. |

Yes, the original Louis Armstrong song was on the pilot episode on the commemorative DVD.
I also had this DVD but lost it somewhere. I still have the one that includes "Room for Two" and "My Sister Sam". |

I found a Fresh Prince set issued in 2005 on EBAY, I purchased it yesterday to see if it will contain that disc. As much as I love the Family Matters season sets, I don't like how the pilot is missing the Louis Armstrong theme.
If they were able to release it on a commemorative disc, why weren't they able to do it for the actual release? |

I'd also like to find this disc (again). It'd be nice to own because of the original theme song. Maybe if I find another one I won't lose it...LOL.

^The copy I used to have DID have the Armstrong song. I'm positive. I wish I still had it.

^Not sure. Maybe the original release of the disc was pulled because of the song issue.
I keep checking eBay for this disc but haven't had any luck. |

I was able to locate a copy of this DVD on eBay. I haven't received it yet but when I do I'll check to see if it has the original theme.

I got the disc today in the mail and unfortunately it's the "As Days Go By" theme.
I know that my original copy of this disc (that I lost) had the Armstrong original theme...I know it did. I wish I could hear from someone that could confirm this so I know I'm not going crazy. |

I am actually glad that the theme song was changed. To me, that "What A Wonderful World" song is too sad sounding.
God bless you always!!! Holly |
