Have American versions of international game shows become popular right now?

In the game show world I've noticed that the game shows of today are becoming popular are international game shows that are made into American versions that seem to become a huge trend in game shows today. Is it because when the shows make their debuts in America they hope that the show will be a hit and take the world by storm? Because ever since the debut of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in 1999 in America it became popular and the original British version of the show was a huge success and with Chris Tarrant as the host the original Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was still popular even though the American nighttime version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with Regis Philbin was cancelled and replaced with the current syndicated version of Millionaire. A second British game show that also had an American version was The Weakest Link and when it debuted on NBC in America this new game show trend spread like wildfire and when Deal Or No Deal which was imported from The Netherlands came out in America it became an instant hit for NBC and a huge smash which also inspired the American version of 1 Vs 100 to be a success as well. And GSN had started getting into the international game show trend with the American version of The Chase and because of The Chase's successful American version GSN has made Divided which is based on a original British game show of the same name and the new American version of Divided is a hit with a new season on the way. And now GSN is in talks to make an American version of the hit BBC game show Pointless and because of this I think that this international game show trend will still be successful in the game show world
Has anyone noticed this trend with the game show world today and do you think this trend is a new way of attracting game show fans?
