My thoughts on who should host

I prefer Bill Kurtis. The one I don't want to see hosting is Keith Morrison, I'll have to mute the sound and turn on captions if he does.

I vote for Elias Toufexis. He's got a unique voice without ripping Stack off.

I've often thought about who should be host of UM if there were to be a proper reboot/return.

Here's my list:

Jonathan Frakes
Avery Brooks
Malcolm McDowell
Bruce Boxleitner
Keith David
Michael Ironside
Ted Levine

No one else can "be" Robert Stack, so if the show ever gets re-booted again and they want a host who is already very knowledgeable when it comes to unsolved cases, I would pick Robin Warder as the host.

However, if the producers of the show want someone that has a similar tone to Stack's voice, someone like Kurtwood Smith or Patrick Warburton could work or one of the narrators from other true crime shows, such as some of the names mentioned in the above posts.

Kurtwood Smith would be great. Patrick Warburton has done too much comedy for me to take him seriously enough to see him host a true crime show.

Kurtwood Smith is a wonderful actor. However, I would have a hard time taking him seriously after his stint as Red Foreman on "That 70's Show." I would expect him to threaten to "put a boot" in the criminals' asses. And then call them "dumbass."

I don't think we're going to get Robin Warder as a host anytime soon. That podcast sure seems to be taking off and taking him some pretty fascinating places...

I LOVE the suggestion of Bruce Boxleitner. Haven't thought about him in years. Michael Ironside would also be good. He's got a great voice.

I loved Red Forman. He was the grumpy father I always wanted instead of the grumpy father I had. However, for me, one of Kurtwood Smith's most memorable roles was as a CIA "fixer" in an old HBO produced movie called Flashpoint. That's the Kurtwood Smith I want as a host.

The AMW host was John Walsh, now the host of CNN's The Hunt. But I highly doubt that the UM producers would hire someone who worked for a rival series. Besides, judging from comments that Walsh made in the past (such as one about AMW not doing UFOs), he is apparently not an UM fan.
