Where the cast is an ensemble of people that just hang out.

The original of sorts is Seinfeld, which popularized the concept. Followed by (in no particular order) Friends, Drew Carey, These Friends of Mine (Later changed the name to Ellen), Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane (the WB's attempt to create Friends for high school), Can't Hurry Love (Nancy McKeon's attempt to recreate the part of Monica which she lost to Courteney Cox) and others???

I guess you could say that "What's Happening!!" was kind of like an earlier version of "Friends". It featured a group of friends who did a lot of hanging out and discussing the day's events. What do other posters think of this comparison?
