Default Can Antenna TV Get Only These Junk Ads?

--Minimum Coverage Auto Insurance

--Addiction help (but only if you can get the taxpayers to pay)

--My Pillow

--Attorneys That Want You To File Lawsuits

--St. Jude and any other entity that wants your Visa card number

--Medicare Coverage

If Antenna TV can't do better than this, even on Johnny Carson, I don't know how they survive. I'm SICK of these junk ads!

I don't like the downer commercials (Mesothelioma, cancer, catheters, etc.) because they're depressing and/or boring, but to be honest it could be worse. Main network channels seem to have more annoying ads.

The ones with pitchmen are usually worth watching for comedic value. I wish they would have more of those types of commercials.

I've often wondered what their perceived audience age group is for this channel. Judging by the commercials, it seems the audience is nearing death, whether it be from working with asbestos in the shipyards 60 years ago or constantly falling down the stairs.

I can live with the bad commercials, but I cannot stand that horrible credit crunch. That is what bothers me most about Antenna TV and that is why I no longer watch it.

In my opinion almost all commercials on any commercial channel these days are un-watchable.As far as the types of commercials they show, I don't think Antenna TV is any worse than any of the other channels. They're all terrible.I avoid commercials as much as possible by using the DVR.

I know several posters don't mind the credit crunching, but I absolutely HATE it. Much of it has no real point. Watch "Hazel" going into Joey Bishop. In this case, they start the credits full-screen, and split them off into some nonsensical promo--a total waste of time. It's like they say, we HAVE to interrupt it with something...ANYTHING.

I think MeTV is a better-run channel, but Antenna has better, and more, sitcoms.

I don't know much about their ratings or the other subchannels, but I think MeTV and Antenna TV are doing pretty good and getting more, even a lot more viewers than many other channels.Plus, not that it matters that much but even their Facebook pages are very active.

We know. You tell us every time someone brings up Antenna TV...even when it has nothing to do with credits.

I hadn't watched Antenna in a while, but yeah, the medical and SPCA commercials are pretty bad. The other retro channels have those types of commercials from time to time, but at least they also show some bigger-name clients.

Those SPCA, UNICEF, and Childrens Hospital commercials are the lowest of the low. All they want is your credit card so they can suck you dry month after month. There ought to be a law...

One thing about Antenna that angers me is the low volume. When I watch any show that's on that channel, I have to turn up the volume.

Yes, the volume is too low on the programs, but then when it comes time for a commercial it is too loud and booming.

I quit watching when they started showing the same episodes of The Tonight Show that they showed last year. Nothing else on this channel interests me or I already have it on DVD (which is how I watch 90% of my tv shows anyway)

You hit the nail on the head. I have better things to do than cope with hucksters obnoxiously pushing a product I have no interest in. Home Video RULES!

I don't know about other non retro stations, but many of the commercials on the retro station are aimed at the age group watching the shows. Also it would be interesting see what is no longer advertised on tv these days. I heard cereals aren't shown much anymore for too much sugar in them and that is bad for kids. 80% shown is for ailments the the 20% is for charities.

I also can't stand the haunting voice of woman who talks about animals left out in the cold. If I have a choice of giving to Shriners, which I did. Cute little Alex is adorable or helping animals, who nitwitted owners shouldn't have a dog in the first place, I take the children.
