April 1, 1946 - March 28, 2017 Terry Fischer Siegel passed away on March 28 from complications of Parkinson's disease. Terry was born in Sherman Oaks to father Carl Fischer, a well-known composer/pianist, and mother Terry Harwin Fischer, a big band singer. By age 17, Terry had a hit record as lead singer of "Popsicles and Icicles" by the Murmaids (with sister Carol Fischer and friend Sally Gordon). She went on to have a solo career as a jazz singer, singing with many groups, specializing in Brazilian music. Her career included opening for Frank Sinatra & directing various acapella groups. She is survived by her sister Carol Fischer Morell, brother-in-law John Morell, nephews Justin & Chris Morell, and her longtime childhood friend Judi Adams. She will be remembered for her valiant effort fighting her illness, never ever losing her sense of humor and ALWAYS ready to burst into song. I'm sad to hear that she died. Popsicles And Icicles by The Murmaids is one of my favorite one hit wonders. Lovely harmonies from the singers and the overall feel of the music is just happy and fun.

I happen to have the song Popsicles And Icicles on a oldies cd of girl groups of the 50's and 60's and I didn't know that The Murmaids sang that song and it's such a cute song. The other info I learned about the song is singer David Gates " The lead singer and founder of the group Bread" wrote Popsicles and Icicles for The Murmaids and was his first ever song he wrote that made him famous as a songwriter before he founded Bread
