He was a talk show host for a local show, so he couldn't possibly have had an abundance of money, but the portrayed him as such, like when he gave a business loan to Joey and Jesse, and when he took the whole family to Hawaii

What do you guys think? Maybe he had an inheritance that was never mentioned.

^^^ An inheritance is possible considering the fact that he was widowed. It was never once said what Pam did for work if she was ever out there doing anything.
