Talking Some important Noobie questions about the Brady Bunch

Hi! I'm new here

ok, soo,

1. How many episodes in a row did Mrs. Brady wear that green paisely pant suit?

2. How was it Bobby's hair suddenly went from jet black to light brown?

3. Was Mike Brady doing speed or meth on the episode where Greg was trying to get out of being a architect?

4. Why did Alice always call Carol and Mike, Mr. and Mrs. Brady after living with them for years, going to Hawaii with them and all that jazz?

5. Why was Jan such a loser?

6. What did Mrs. Brady do that she needed a house keeper? ... and then why was she always helping Alice in the kitchen?

Thank you for reading this far, that will be all.

Here is another one or two.

Did any of the kids have friends? They were always playing with each other as a family and never another person around.

How was it they always got along and stuck up for each other? Normal brothers and sisters are supposed to fight.

How many records do you think Greg's band sold during the 'Time to Change' tour?

What was the best episode ever? I'd have to vote for when Greg started High School and turned into a Big Shot! That was actually a good episode ..... kind of tear jerker at the end. Mr. Brady was a pretty good actor.

Mike Lookinland had blond hair and dyed it brown to get the part. Eventually it grew out lighter and they didn't always dye him correctly to match the other males. On "The Brady Bunch Hour," he just went to his natural blond.

It's a form of respect, like calling your schoolteachers Mr. and Ms. when you see them in public decades after you graduated.

Arguably, Jan was the most successful Brady kid. In "A Very Brady Christmas" and "The Bradys," she was a successful and confident architect in her father's old firm, while the other Brady kids were still bouncing around, with Dr. Greg unhappy with his practice.

She had a household of 8. Mike had a housekeeper from the time he was a widower. She was helping in the kitchen because the scripts required scenes with two people instead of one person talking to herself.

The last thing "The Brady Bunch" needed was more characters. Imagine if each of the six kids had three friends who were recurring characters. The success of TBB was the carefully-crafted scenes between two or more of the children. Memorable drama makes use of the core characters. It's too easy to introduce a character into a scene to only make one joke.

Did you ever watch TBB? There was constant squabbling.

Did you mean Robert Reed was a good actor? When did Mr. Brady act other than to play the prince in "Snow White"?

They had friends, just about all of the kids had episodes when they had friends over... and they had friends in school that you'd see them with.

Not counting Greg's girlfriends or Marcia's boyfriends, you had:

Greg: Friends he tried to sell his car to... Hank, the guy who was in college which led to Greg wanting his own room (getting the attic)... his band (smoking episode)

Marcia: Snooty friends from the Westdale Boosters (they weren't friends for long)... she had friends over for a slumber party... Kathy Lawrence was over at the house when she and Marcia tried to convince Peter that he had a nice personality (the invasion of the potato people)... later, Kathy beat her out for head cheerleader which put her at the bottom of Marcia's list... there was Molly, who marcia helped transform from a plain jane to a hot item...

Jan: Kerry Hathaway...Peter got a crush on her, as did we all Jan also had a friend who was an only child, but we didn't get to see her... but she made Jan want to be an only child

Peter: football friends (they poked fun at him for being in the glee club). Arthur Owens, his lookalike classmate...Johnny Dimsdale, whose father owned a recording studio...

Bobby: football friends (Joe Namath episode). He paid his friend to send notes to Cindy.

Cindy: I'm not sure, was she ever shown playing with any friends?

Re:Normal brothers & sisters fighting... the Bradys had plenty of fights between the kids... no hitting, but lots of shouting and not speaking to each other.

I agree that Robert Reed was a fantastic father as an actor... I'd rank him second behind ward cleaver among all sitcom fathers. He was very real.

First of all, thanks to all for clearing some things up.

She could never do anything right. I remember one episode where she was trying the debate club or act or something and kept flopping ... I think in the end she could paint well. There were a few episodes where she was clumsy or clutzy, but we're we all as teens?

I do remember she was great at the ice cream shop.... which reminds me that Pete never had very good work ethic other than being a sun flower girl.

Soo another thing I noticed ....(METV has been playing reruns) in the Oliver season, that's when the show really was failing. The Pete's double episode was terrible, the win a free make a movie at some studio thing was lame ( I noticed Robert Reed didn't show up for that and I can't blame him ), and a few others were bad. It's like they suddenly ran out of ideas. Plus, I think with the kids being older, it's not as cute or funny for some reason.
