The syndication package they own includes seasons 6-10 only (1972-77). Even then I'm not sure if all the content from those years made it into the package. What they have are VERY edited versions of the episodes, which is better than nothing, but still frustrating at times.
I wish they could get the rest of the episodes, and actually show it in an hour long format like it's supposed to be. |

Carol only owns the rights to the last six seasons (1972 - 78). So the 150 or so episodes that comprise the package called "Carol Burnett & Friends" are the best sketches from those last six years. Bob Banner (who passed away a few years ago) owned the rights to the first 5 years. Since his passing, they have obtained the rights back to those shows from the first 5 seasons and those are being released on DVD from Time-Life. I don't know why Carol and Banner didn't get together and try to syndicate all 11 seasons. It would have been nice, but generally syndicated packages with 100 to 150 episodes were ideal back in the 1970s and 1980s.
