Question Worst Stations and Markets for Local TV

Can you name some once proud, dominant, successful or at least respectable TV stations that, for one reason or another have fallen from grace? Stations that were once market leaders and are now a shell of their former selves?

Considering that local stations were once one of five and are now one of five hundred plus the internet, Netflix, uncut movies, etc. it's not a surprise that none of them are what they used to be.

Living in Los Angeles we have KTLA 5, KCOP 13, KTTV 11, KCAL 9 plus some independant stations and they're not like they once were, in the 90's it was fun searching the TV Guide and seeing what late night programming and obscure movies they would have.

Now I hardly watch except for KTTV 11 morning news and reruns of Modern Family.

Most of those late night programs and obscure movies they no longer show are available on home video in one form or another. For those of you who don't want to purchase them a good number can be found on youtube or some other streaming service. (Nearly 1/4 of all the programming I've acquired are shows I watched on youtube first. Liking what I see I'll go to amazon.com or a "trading site" such as ioffer.com or sell.com). IMO TV Stations not to mention networks are becoming obsolete.

This is a good one...WUAB!

Once WUAB played favorites like Indians baseball and Cavaliers basketball, mid-afternoon cartoons, sitcoms, and movies. WUAB still plays sitcoms, but it goes for the shock shows like Jerry Springer, Family Guy, and a lot of Paid Programing!

Once WUAB lost the rights to The WB to WBNX...that station went downhill big time!

WHDH 7 in Boston, Mass is a shell of its former self now that it has lost its NBC affiliation. WHDH 7 was once a top performing station for newscasts (WCVB 5 was typically always #1 with WHDH 7 and WBZ-4 switching between 2nd and 3rd place). And now sadly it is a mere independent station.
