Default Beaver Won't Eat-What should June have said to the nosy lady?

June was very polite to the buttinsky lady at the restaurant--twice. What should she have said to her--if she wasn't the polite, refined lady that she is?

' It's ALSO rude to listen on other folks' conversations and comment ! At least, wait til you get home to talk about us, you nosy snoop! '

I also wondered why the snoop's own dinner companion didn't tell her to mind her own?

That old buttinsky was very rude. June could have said, "Shut up and eat your meal and choke on your sprouts." Hey wonder why that lady way over against the wall was watching Beaver try a sprout? She was far away. Love when Ward said "I think we've had all the happiness we can stand."

I always got the biggest kick out of the scene when they bring the dinners and would never looks at his food. His nose is almost bulbous in that scene. When you order a meal they always ask your veggie preference and Beav could have said carrots please. Whole thing was dumb.

Yeah, and brussels sprouts is really an odd veg. to be on the menu at a fancy, sit-down restaurant.

I also remember seeing that lady who was far away, watching. The director probably didn't notice her, or he would have cut and retaken the scene.

But i think June made a mountain out of a molehill. Beaver didn't want to eat them, so he should not eat them. He doesn't like them. What if June had to eat something she didn't like?

June thought he was a poor eater, but it's one thing to make a big deal out of it at home, but when you're at a restaurant...when the waitress said she could bring him something else, June should have let her. Then, when Otis the Manager came over, Ward should have given up. It would have been a great "out" for either of them, but they didn't take it!

I agree and I actually wish June would have broken character like that at least once during the series. It would have been interesting to see her have a cathartic release after all she's had to put up with from the boys and others.

I agree! I said that on another LITB thread, that Brussel Sprouts are an odd vegetable to be served in a restaurant!

Brussel sprouts are one of those things that you are either going to really like or really hate! I never knew anyone to say oh they are OK! I personally love them, but I know a lot of people who are generally vegetable eaters but can't stand Brussel sprouts! If the waitress was offering to bring another vegetable for Beaver, that should have been OK with June! She shouldn't have pushed it! And that nosy lady diner should really have minded her own business!

I can manage to swallow them...I can't imagine the Beaver actually discovering that he likes them.

Had this been Jake on 2-1/2 Men, he probably would have spit the sprout across the table. They never would have done that on LITB, but it would have been as funny as June telling the old biddy off.

I love brussel sprouts. I ate half a bag tonight along with half a bag of broccoli. Put a little bug juice and yum.
