Did Queen Latifah's brother pass away in 1993?

I found my copy of Queen Latifah's 1993 album Black Reign and noticed that it was produced by Queen Latifah's brother Lancelot Owens who produced many of her rap albums and when I was listening to the album I noticed that she mentioned her brother quite a bit in the lyrics and the back of the album shows a photo of Queen Latifah standing next to a grave putting flowers on it. So it tells me that Queen Latifah lost her brother during the making of the Black Reign album in 1993. Did Lancelot Owens pass away and did Queen Latifah dedicate the album Black Reign to him?

Yes. Her Brother Lancelot was killed in 1992 in a motorcycle accident !

So that's why Queen Latifah dedicated her 1993 rap album to her brother Lancelot when it was released. I have been a fan of Queen Latifah's rap music career since I got the cd single of her song Paper from her album Order In The Court and when my mom got me the album Black Reign in a thrift shop it was my first Queen Latifah rap album and I didn't realize that Lancelot Owens produced the album
