Lake canoe case? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Trying to remember the case where the lady got attacked while either on a canoe or little boat in a lake or river. She was in Texas and had her little boy with her.

Curious if that case was ever solved? I've only seen it once or twice about the time it aired so it's been a long time.

I KNOW this case, but her name escapes me. There was a TON of conversation about her on these threads-- lots of speculation that she may have made the whole thing up.

Crap. Who WAS that?

ETA: It's the Brazos River Attack.

Totally phony case IMO. Just seems way too far-fetched (at least the version of events shown in the reenactment) to be believable. Stranger things have happened, but this just doesn't add up to me.

A thread on here a few years back had a link that suggested she made the thing up. Granted, the link was to another woman's blog who clearly had a vendetta against the woman who claimed to be attacked, so that doesn't make it easy to believe her. However, I think most on here agree with you: this feels like a phony story.

I forgot about the alcohol part. It definitely sounds like a made up story but probably hard to prove one way or another at this point.

Maybe it's because both sketches were done by Jeanne Boylan, but the older assailant's composite looks very much like the composite of the Molly Bish suspect.

This sure sounds suspect. Not sure what to think of this one without more research.

The woman's first name was "Theresa," but they did not reveal her last name.

Another rare case that never had a Farina-ized version. I find that odd, as it wasn't that old of a case compared to most of the other ones. I haven't seen that segment since the early 2000s.
