first of all, it had a nice, happy ending

but there are so many things wrong with this

1) eric was totally correct in everything he said. he very specifically stated to matt that he was not against him marrying a jewish girl, or even having the wedding done in a synagogue. but that he was against matt changing his belief systems for someone. correct a mundo, as the fonz would say !!

2) and then in a matter of a couple minutes, the colonel is somehow able to get eric to admit to simply being petty, because matt was not following in his father's footsteps. what a bunch of crap !!

3) if it were not for sarah, matt would never have been changing his belief systems. and sarah did not even want matt to do so. it was strictly sarah's father. matt is still very immature, and probably not ready to get married. no mature person allows himself to get used, like that. i know lots of kids in middle school, who have a lot more fight in them than matt had.

4) had i been in matt's place, i would not have agreed to a jewish wedding. i would have agreed to a mixed wedding, as they finally did. if matt had even a small bit of gumption, he should have told the rabbi that his father was to play an equal part in the wedding, not merely a candle holder. and then at the last minute, when it was extremely obvious that he did not want to, he agrees to changing his whole belief system ?

5) and eric is somehow made out to be the bad guy ?? it was as obvious as the nose on matt's face that he was not man enough to make decisions, when it meant standing up for himself. he allowed himself to get run over, like a stampede of cattle !! and eric was the only one in the whole kit and caboodle who seemed to understand this. and his only way of telling matt just how wrong he was, was to tell matt that he could not attend the wedding. GOOD FOR ERIC. it is exactly what he should have said.

6) and this whole marriage ceremony is only happening because the two of them are too chicken to tell the parents that they are already married - another demonstration that the two of them are too immature. they elope when then should not have, and then they cant even admit to the elopement.

like i said, it had a nice ending, and i enjoyed it. but boy, were there a lot of things wrong with what matt did !!! and didnt do !!!

And didn't the whole thing get started because they got married the day they met simply because they wanted to have sex? As if eloping with someone you've known for 24 hours somehow circumvents the whole no-sex-before-marriage rule. This show was so stupid I can't believe I ever watched it.
