Hi everyone!
I'm looking for a new series to watch. I'd like to see a light drama, with family values in it. So nothing of the shows airing now basically. I'm thinking of Everwood, which I've never seen, but if anyone has other shows I'm open for suggestions! Thanks! |

I loved Everwood, My So-Called Life and One Tree Hill. All of these shows at times have mature themes, but I don't think they go overboard. |

I guess it depends on what you mean by "family values". That is sort of a broad term, but I'll do my best.
But here are some suggestions, with pros and cons for each show: Former Series: Gilmore Girls--- Light in tone, for the most part; but depending on what you consider "family values" it may not be your cup of tea. It is about a single mother and her daughter. Sisters--- Pretty light in tone, can be soapy and melodramatic at time, but definitely it touches directly on the theme of family values and what makes a family. 7th Heaven-- This would seem to perfectly fit the parameters you set forth. It can be a bit preachy at time and is pretty poorly written. Picket Fences--- Can be a bit quirky at times, often overly so, but it definitely is about a family and has themes close to the ones you asked for. Parenthood (2010)--- Not really light as that it often gets emotional and will make you cry. But it is critically acclaimed and certainly is about family values. Party of Five--- Not really "light" and gets very heavy at times. Depending on what you consider to be "family values" it may be a bit too risque for you tastes. Current Series: This Is Us--- Fairly light in tone, with some emotional elements to it. Excellent writing and acting. It's entire premise is to focus on this one family. |

All good choices.
My favorites: The Waltons Little House on the Prairie Eight is Enough Party of Five 7th Heaven Brothers & Sisters Here is a list of some of my favorite all-time families although not all of these would be considered to be "light drama with family values". http://variety.com/gallery/all-ameri...mily-tv-shows/ |
