Default Prepare for an influx of new posters...

IMDb is shutting down their message boards completely as of 2-20-17.

Hundreds of thousands of people will be looking for new boards to post on.

I've seen Sitcoms Online as a suggested site...

Honestly I wouldn't mind if we got a few new members out of this. The boards have been really slow around here recently.

But the IMDB trolls will have no place here. If any of them show up you can bet they'll be out in no time. For that you can thank the admins here for running such a tight ship.

I second both of these. And I thanks this board's administration for being firm. It's been almost a year since we had someone post

I may be alone on this, but I for one am not looking forward to an influx of new members. I don't really have time to be reading through dozens of extra threads per day or taking the time to decide which ones to click on. Maybe I'm wrong for feeling this way. I just don't like the idea of having to reassess my priorities. Sorry.

Yeah, God Bless Janice and TJ. They really care about their site. Janice WAS WONDERFUL to me when I was dealing with a truly horrible troll as a newbie. And I've seen her go to bat FOR HOURS on end to get to the bottom of their ordeals. Sadly, some of those she worked tirelessly for turned out to be ingrates, but I'm glad I'm not one of them. So here's to SO, TJ and Janice!

That sucks about IMDB shutting down their message boards, because I do go there and post there a lot, and there is a lot of information. However, there is SO MUCH (which is the reason perhaps why they want to shut it down) that a question may never get a response or one years later.

I like this message board a lot but it needs more contributors. So I welcome many more new people.

I think the IMDB trolls would much prefer the nasty comments section on YouTube (that area below each video) than our forums here.

I personally welcome everyone that joins this forum for their new home...as long as they play nice.

That was one of the things I hated about IMDB were the trolls and they made it unpleasant to have civil conversations.

If they come over here , they better clean up their act. I've read those boards occasionally and people are very rude over there.

As a member for almost 12 yrs, I can say the Admin's here have a zero tolerance for trolling, and Bless Them for that!

On another note, where in Pgh are you from--the city proper or the burbs. I have cousins in Squirrel Hill and Edgewood. Great city. If NYC gets too $$$ I'm seriously considering Pittsburgh.

Oh yes, I'm glad it's been incredibly civil here. In fact, the civility and lack of trolling here is what has kept me coming back day after day, time after time.

I live out in the Styx. I live near Pittsburgh , but not exactly in Pittsburgh.
