Default Just Curious, how many here do NOT have cable or a dish?

I know a lot of you can get some of the retro channels. I'm just curious who has pulled the plug.
We can get ABC, NBC, Fox and CBS, that's it.

*Note to all those that tell me how to get more channels. It is not possible where we live unless we get a HUGE tower which would cost thousands.

I have not pulled the plug and I'm not going to. I have Dish Network. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't watch Barney Miller and Silver Spoons every night on Family Net!!

TV

Haven't had it for ten years. No need for OTA either, I have retro shows galore, and there are no commercial interruptions to contend with.

The complete series of "Barney Miller" has been released on DVD. Not sure if you knew.

I still have DIRECTV but that's only because I live so far out in the sticks that an antenna won't pick up ANYTHING. I mostly just watch NBC (for "Wheel of Fortune" and "Days of our Lives") and GSN (for "Wheel of Fortune" reruns).

My dad watches TV Land a lot for "Gunsmoke" and "Bonanza"...which I can't stand either show.

TV One gets watched on occasion because of "Sanford and Son". I own the complete series on DVD but sometimes I just feel like watching it on TV.

I get Comcast and actually have too much. Wish I could pare down but when I do the gal said you would lose your DVR so I tried to use the everything provided. Don't know anyone well enough to ask, how do get what you get, for a cheaper price.

My husband bought the Channel Master DVR so he record the shows he does watch and games that come on our OTA local channels. There is no monthly fee for the DVR we have. It actually pays for itself quickly when you aren't paying for cable. The picture is crisp and clear. Our previous Dish bill was 120.00 per month and we didn't have HBO or any other premium channels. It seemed to go up all the time. We'll save 1440.00 per year.

I never had cable or satellite. My folks were cheap and didn't care about much on it. 10-15 years ago, I envied everyone that had it. Nowadays, I could care less. It's way overpriced and way too many edits and commercials. Just not worth it. I watch Bounce and Laff sometimes but I mostly watch DVDs. I also watch shows on Kodi and on a Roku app called XTV.

That sounds like a good DVR and a good idea.Plus in my opinion if someone is going to even attempt to watch TV on a channel these days,at least in America you really need a DVR or something like it.

We have Dish Network. We live way way out of town so we can't pick up antenna.

I've NEVER had a cable subscription in my name; closest I came to having it was when I lived with an idiot roommate who already had it. I wanted it in the 80s mainly for MTV and uncut movies, but by the 90s it was a shadow of its former self and has only gotten worse since then.

Mainly I'm not comfortable with having to watch COMMERCIALS on channels that I'm already PAYING for- the reason broadcast stations show them is so I don't have to pay to watch them. Many cable channels also run infomercials all night as well. I have zero tolerance for the constant logos that most cable channels put on the screen during shows; at least a few shows on the broadcast channels are still free from those.

I have a huge library of movies and other material in all formats past to present, so I never have a shortage of things to watch, and it's always something I actually WANT to see rather than what someone else thinks I should watch!

No dish or cable or DirecTV for me. It's all subchannels, others (PBS, My Network TV), and DVDs. I'm watching the Donna Reed Show weekend binge right now on Decades.
