Cool Freddie Show Update

Hi all! I just wanted to check in and see whats happenin with you guys.

The show has been going great! Although we haven't gotton the audience we've wished from week to week it is slowly picking up with more and more heads each week. A famous comic George Wallace actually showed up on week 3 and he really enjoyed the show. He had another show to go to right after my show so I didn't get to meet him personally but he did leave his friend from Kiss Fm behind (Radio station in NY) Who said that George really enjoyed the show and that he had the good fortune of knowing Freddie back when they were both comics starting out. He said that George was touched by the performance and it reminded him of the good ol days of comedy. That was an honor for me, to have someone recognize what we are trying to do for comedy, for Freddie.

I'm also happy to say that this show has been educational for people who didn't know Freddie and are now just learning of his greatness. To be able to turn people on to Freddie and his great comedy has changed my life in many ways.
I am now turned onto stand-up comedy and thru Freddie's help (because to me he is alive and well) I am becomming a stand-up comic and have actually become a regular at the NY comedy club & other smaller venues doing my own material. Being young and hispanic actor/comedian Freddie has become my inspiration. I have always looked up to people like Jackie Gleason (the Honeymooners) Richard Pryor, Robin Williams but for some reason could never find my niche to do comedy (so I studied acting) Now my journey has led me to Freddie and now I am rediscovering myself.

But the work isn't done yet. I am still working on the act, studying CATM tapes, and trying to learn more about Freddie - the learning never stops. So thanks to all of you who continue to posts threads providing the world with more pictures and keeping Freddie alive.
Before I forget - a friend of mine at work said she spotted Freddie on Tv last week. He did a spot on the Carol Burnett show - I don't know if any of you caught it. It was a tribute to Carol Burnett.

Loookin Gooood!

Sounds like you`re going to go far Laz., I`m so glad your show is introducing Freddie to people who don`t know him. Maybe they`ll want to see CATM, and start e-mailing Nick at Nite,or TVland to get it back on. Good luck with your career.

Wink I don't suppose this will do any good, but...

Do you think there is any chance that you might be able to post a picture of yourself in character on this board?

Smile I can't wait!

Hi Laz,
I am so glad to hear the show is going so well. I keep praying that the audience will fill up more and more as word gets out what a wonderful show it is. Every time you write, either on this board, or in an e-mail to me, I get very excited to see the show. I know you and the other actors have put a lot of hard work into the production.
I am also glad to hear your stand-up career is taking off. I know Freddie is smiling down on you and lending his support as you assume your place in this career. I know if he were here in the flesh he would definitely be taking you under his wing as a mentor. I am glad that everything that you are able to study about him has helped in a mentoring way, even though he could not be here to do it in person. I am sure he is doing it in spirit!
I know we still have 3 weeks to wait till we see you in person doing your best to do Freddie's memory justice, but I want to second Mariposa's request for a sneek peek. The suspense is killing us! Pretty please??!?!?!?!
Yours,
Luckymama(Marie)

Talking Looooking goooood, ABSOLUTELY!!!

Laz, I must say you have the perfect grin and the mustache is just right! There is one thing I would like to know, though--of course, you didn't have time to grow your hair as long as Freddie's was, but do you wear a wig in the show? The others in the picture didn't look like they were in character, so I assume you were not either?

No matter what, now that I have seen that picture, I am sooo much more excited to come and see the show, you can't imagine! See ya soon!

Lori

Wow it is so neat to see what Laz looks like. I too am curious to know if he wears a wig. Freddies hair wasn't that long anyway so Laz's may be grown out soon too. Good luck with the show! We are rooting for ya! Loooking Goood!
