Ever since the death of singer Selena in 1995 and the song Macarena becoming a mega hit in 1996 I noticed that Latin music has become more popular than ever and I want to know why Latin music has suddenly become popular again? Is it because Latin music is replacing R&B and pop music as the top selling genres in the music world or is it because there are people that like it for dancing? Because when Ricky Martin became a star with his self-titled English debut album he became a mega star in English and when Marc Anthony released his debut album in English he was a huge successful star and has released more English albums. Another star that made a huge name for herself in Latin music is Jennifer Lopez and when she released her debut album she released hit after hit from it and has become popular ever since. While it is cool I do wish that we could see more singers like Gloria Estefan make a comeback and release more fun albums in English. Another singer that had made it huge in English but has never ever released another English album since is Paulina Rubio and when she released her album Border Girl she had a hit with the song Don't Say Goodbye and then she disappeared from the English market. And now with singers like Shakira making it huge in music I think Latin Music will become huge once again
