A little surprising that Family Ties didn't make the top 50 shows of all time in the TV Guide list. I wonder why that
happened . I always believed this show was top 20 material. Maybe a different list will include Family Ties as a top 50 show one day. Hey what can you do, it is just silly list. We all know how great this show was and it will always be one of my favorites, no matter what TV Guide says.

I was looking at the article in my TV Guide about the top 50 shows. Do you know that some of those shows barely made it to three seasons??? In my opinion, a show like Family Ties, which made it through seven seasons, should have been on the list.

one series that lasted only 2 months, and 12 episodes made the list at #39...that's outrageous..... It was called American Family and was one of the first shows to have an openly gay son on it.... boo to tv guide committee

I agree it is crazy that a show that ran 7 years didn't make it.
I think FT is up there with Laverne & Shirley,Three's Company and Cheers, all of which ran for around 7 or more seasons. Of course the greatest sitcom of all time was undoubedtly The Honeymooners which lasted for only 39 eps. |
