Default Some of that Jazz question

I don't understand why Michael (Janet's creepy dance teacher) even suggested that Janet quit her job to be a dancer. I understand he wanted to get it on with her, but couldn't he have found an easier way to flatter her? Seems like a drastic suggestion for someone looking for maybe a one-night-stand.

I think the real question should be: Why would a male dancer be interested in Janet in the first place...not that there's anything wrong with that.

There are plenty of male dancers who are straight.

No, I just meant that this episode aired during season 6. By that time Janet had become unbearable to watch as a character, not to mention she couldn't dance that well.

Thank you for clearing that one up for me. When you used the "not that there is anything wrong with that" line, I thought that you were implying that he was gay.

When Terri was added, it was Janet that was dumbed down in some episodes. This plot line wouldn't have happened during either the Chrissy or Cindy years.

The creepy dancer also played the guru that Chrissy had to be "rescued from" in season 3.

It was really extreme for him to suggest that to her and even more so that she fell for it. Didn't she remember that he had already done the same thing to Chrissy when he was the Guru?? Haha.

I'm not sure where I read it (maybe here on this board) but someone brought up a good point about Janet always being so guarded about men/sex in general.

Come to think of it, i can't remember Janet making out with anyone on screen, boyfriends, etc. I know she awkwardly kissed Jack and also her husband when she got married in the final season, but in 8 years we never really saw her kissing any boyfriends, etc. Maybe this was to fuel the fact that they wanted to keep the tension of Janet's uncovered love for Jack alive?

I don't think we saw her making out with guys on screen, but I think Janet was successful with guys. She seemed like a private person who wasn't comfortable "kissing and telling." She always had a lot of boyfriends, though.

I laughed at your joke about her not remembering the guy being the guru. Good one!

No doubt that she had a lot of boyfriends but even when they would be alone with her in the apartment, we never really saw them getting cozy. There were times when she'd make sure to have the apartment all to herself by kicking out Jack and Chrissy and when she'd be alone with the guys, they would put the moves on her and she would flip out on them! Mind you, the moves that the guys would put on her were never really romantic in nature so I get that too!

Yep speaking of which here's a bit of trivia the creepy dancer played wonderfully by Michael Bell is also a very prolific voice actor of countless cartoon shows such as SuperFriends, Transformers, G.I.Joe, Voltron, Rugrats.

Nice bit of trivia for sure - i could totally picture him doing voice work for cartoons as he did have quite a smooth voice - thanks for sharing
