Frasier was not a terrible father, it was just the fact that it was no longer his kid. What did you want him to do? Sue for custody?

When the show really started to Jump The Shark around season 8, I actually thought they would play the Frederick Card, and have him move in with Frasier and be a regular character. I was shocked when that never came to be.
