Default I just knew this episode had a historic fact connected to it...."Pick Six"

One month before this episode aired in 1986, the Lotto was introduced to the public. That's what Mary was playing in this episode ;p;


I had a feeling it had something to do with that time in history

Did you notice the lady in the store in front of Mary was Aunt Esther? And Grady was on yesterday playing Mary's father!

yeah I never knew esther guest starred on 227. I knew about grady and george Jefferson. This show is growing on me

^Seasons 1-4 are really good but season 5 is pretty awful but still somewhat enjoyable compared to today's TV.

I see the main characters from the Jeffersons made a guest appearance on 227 except weezy


Ralph the door man, Tom Willis, George, and Helen all appeared on 227


Also from Sanford and Son Rollo made a guest appearance

227 is a good show and I'm enjoying the reruns. I saw "Grady" and "Aunt Esther" this week too..... and Billy Dee Williams! And I forgot that Pearl is such a hoot!

Good catch! I was thinking it was a spoof on these big dollar lottos that had multiple winners. If I am not mistaken, that has happened a few times in real life where the jackpot was split among the winners. I have to do some research
