Is it the characters that you don't like or can't relate to?
Is it the "feel" of the show which makes you dislike it ? Whatever it may be , what causes me to be turned off from a television show is hard to describe. Say How I Met Your Mother for example. I had hopes for this show and even got the first seven seasons of the show. I put in the first episode and it just seemed weird and made me uncomfortable. I don't know what it is , but something about How I Met Your Mother turns me off from it. Anyone ever have those shows where you are turned off from it for no apparent reason? |

ANY show that had a political "sermon" (usually left-wing) built into an episode. It was these kinds of programming that made me question WHY was I paying a provider to supply my programming, but it was the commercials that made me decide to CANCEL my Pay-TV subscription ten years ago.

Writing with no basic logic and storylines that contradict themselves
Divas Preachy storylines Over the top characters/stories Unless it's a Get Smart/Police Squad/Sledge Hammer type comedy of course. |

Mediocre shows that are stuggling in the ratings and the networks try to place them between popular shows.
For example any show airing between The Simpsons and Family Guy on FOX is always a stinker. The same can probably apply to Family Ties and Night Court which had lead-in's of The Cosby Show and Cheers. |
