its true the warrens investigated the house - (though this is never seen in the movie) and its true father ralph heard a voice telling him to "Get Out". but what happened fact by fact is hard to depict some say the lutzs just left because of the furnace not working and it being cold all the time but be that as it may its hard to believe they would just up and high tail it out of there and leave all their valuables behind just because it was cold. something happened whether it was supernatural related or whether they were just freaked out from living in a home where murder took place. what really happened from the time of the murders to the time the lutzs moved in and left will probably never be known. Ronnie has changed his story more than van der sloot one minute claiming he heard voices. one minute claiming a demon handed him the rifle. then the next minute claiming he and his older sister dawn - (whom he was rumored to have an incest relationship with) conspired together to kill their parents and siblings but problem with this story is that all rounds came from the same rifle

No. I think the Lutz's were so desperate for money they took advantage of the house's tragic history. Good book though as entertainment, okay movie. Part 2 will always be my favorite of the franchise.

From what I've seen about the Amityville house lately it seems the Lutz's made the whole thing up. But the Warren's are reputable people with solid cases in their files. And yes it's true Ronnie has changed his story . So I really can't say if I believe it or not.

IDK? But Amittyville Horror is one of my All time favorite movies! James Brolin was HOT in this!
I love the whole Amittyville franchise!![]() And the true story of the DeFeo family was very tragic, but it fascinates me! Anything that is ever on TV about this I watch it! ![]()

George and Kathy Lutz moved to San Diego, where they briefly sold Amway products, then to Arizona before divorcing in the late-1980s. George “Lee” Lutz, died on May 8, 2006 of heart disease. He was 59.. Kathy died in 2004 of emphysema. At the time of his death, George was living in Las Vegas, where he volunteered at a homeless shelter and restored old cars. He occasionally appeared at conferences dedicated to the paranormal to discuss his Amityville experiences.

The DeFeo incident did happen though, but what happened later with the Lutz family is questionable. |

It's hard to say. George Lutz maintained his story till his death, though there are certainly a lot of questions as to motivations, etc.
Also, the younger of the sons who lived there during this time has a documentary that seems to indicate that 'something' was going on there, though he also seems to have some personal issues. The truth will almost certainly never be known, conclusively. |
