I've been working on this list as a side project. It isn't complete yet, but I thought I would share anyway for the edification of the forum. This is a list of segments from the NBC run that were not shown on the new series with Dennis Farina. I've only gotten through season three of the NBC run, so there will be more added later as I have time.

Great idea Justin! It would be interesting to know the reasons why these cases weren't re-made into the Farina segments. I'm assuming some were due to the fact that they were proven hoaxes (like Gulf Breeze) and some were because the perpetrators had served time and were released or had died years ago (like Robert Leeds or Gene Flannes). I also noticed in the Farina segments that they never profiled any parental abduction cases (other than Jonathan/Elizabeth Ortiz). I'm assuming they did that because most of those cases were resolved and the abductor parents served time and were released awhile ago.
I did notice a few segments you listed that actually were on Farina episodes: Jay Cook and Tanya Van Cuylenborg John Hawkins Hinkle family (update was shown) Conradina Olson |

Thanks for the feedback. Are you sure the segments you listed have been shown on the Farina episodes? I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm just trying to be precise and I'm confused because I have a list from Cosgrove Meurer of all the Spike segments and I double checked and those aren't on there

I definitely remember all four of them being on the Farina episodes. I know I had a Word document that listed all of the cases from the Farina episodes, but it is on one of my old computers (it wasn't my own document, I got it from somewhere else, but I can't remember where). This isn't the best source, but here's a transcript of a Farina episode, at the beginning of the transcript it mentions the Cook/Van Cuylenborg case. http://mreplay.com/transcript/unsolv...5_2010/186276/
At about 00:41:30 on this link, the John Hawkins/Richard Boggs case is mentioned, with this being another transcript: http://tv.ark.com/transcript/best_of...2_2010/322541/ At around 00:35:28, this transcript has the Hinkle family segment: http://tv.ark.com/transcript/unsolve...2_2011/547104/ And this transcript mentions Conradina Olson, around 00:02:29: http://tv.ark.com/transcript/unsolve...8_2010/362267/ All of these transcripts match up with the cases that I listed on the UM Wikia: http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Spike's_Unsolved_Mysteries_Series_List Hope this helps! |

Good morning,
You are ABSOLUTELY correct. The document I had from CM had those cases listed, but did not mention the names of any of the participants so I missed them in my cataloging. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll edit the post above to reflect the change. |

Most of the cases listed were either solved or were too old to matter/way past statute of limitations, but I still don't understand why some of the unsolved stuff (Nyleen Kay Marshall, Michaela Garecht) was never rebroadcast. Hell, I'd even like to see them profile Rogest Cain (even though he is legally deceased as of 1995) just to see if there are any new leads generated.

The Robert Corrado case was definitely made into a Farina version. I've seen it a few times.
I am almost positive the Joe Owens case was made into a Farina version but I have no concrete evidence right now. You can add L'Enfant to the list of segments never made with Farina. Another one is a segment they did around 1996 on computer crimes. I remember it contained a segment about a man who was chatting online with an underage boy named "Marty" who actually turned out to be an undercover detective. In that same segment, there was story about a ring of criminals stealing and selling computer parts on the black market. |
