Default "Vicar of Dibley" American Style !

Some time ago I read that Jane Leeves (Daphne on "Frasier") and Peri Gilpin (Roz on "Frasier") optioned the US rights for an American version of "The Vicar of Dibley".

Any word on what's happened to this project ????

I can't imagine The Vicar Of Dibley being changed because I think it works so well as it already is.

I agree. I presume it will be "Frasier-ized" for American consumption.

Dawn French is something that you cant improve upon anyway !

How did you feel about the American-ization of "All In The Family" ?

I was never really a big fan of Till Death Us Do Part (the British version) since it only really seemd to be the same jokes over and over. I haven't seen it since I was about 8 or 9 now since it's no longer shown so I might have a different opinion now.

I have only seen All In The Family once and I thought it was quite funny but I couldn't really judge a whole show just on one episode.

One of the other big American takeovers was Three's Company from Man About The House. I've never seen Three's Company but I like Man About The House and I would have thuoght converting it would be quite hard.

Im not terribly fond of most Britcoms, but, i did like Man About the House, On the Buses and more recently, the EXCELLENT "As time goes by"

The best shows out of UK though were the sketch shows espcially
Monty Python, the Goodies and Alexis Sayle
