Default Disappointed that MeTV Removed PJ From Lineup

The last episode they aired, at least for now, was #54 last Friday, Dec. 30. Disappointing! We didn't get MeTV till a few months ago. So I started from episode #145 till the end of the series, then they started over. I know seasons 2 and 3 are available on DVD, but I won't see season 4 or the first part of #5. I know they feel they need to rotate series occasionally but I'm disappointed. (I sent a note to their comment form online but don't expect it to matter.)

There's been at least one other instance in recent years that MeTV dropped PJ and brought it back before too long. At that time their spokesperson replied to my email stating "the girls will be back."

I'm confident it will return, probably on the spring schedule.

"Death March" is quite apt for the Hillbillies' final days. Whew!
I, too, would like to see Petticoat Junction return to the morning lineup.

Even more so, I would love to see My 3 Sons (run in it's entirety from b/w beginnings to the 12th season) return to Me TV. This show has been gone for far too long already. Luckily for me I continue to watch the show every week thanks to recordings.

OMG yes!!! I'd love to see My Three sons on METV again!

And Petticoat Junction! YES!!! I want to be able to turn on the TV if I'm up early and "Ride the little train that is rolling down the track to the junction"!

When I've seen My Three Sons on Me-TV before, I've only seen the same Season 6-10 episodes that have been in syndication. Nick-at-Nite did show the other 7 seasons in the past, but for now I've had to satisfy my occasion desire to see these mostly-unseen seasons on You Tube, where there are a few episodes, some even with commercial bumpers.

The girls needed a break from climbing that water tank every morning. I'm sure they'll be back in the future.

I happened to bump into Password Plus with Allen Ludden from ? late 70 -early 1980's and was wondering why Linda Kaye Henning was appearing. I was watching Buzzr game show network. Usually a celebrity appearing on the show had a movie, tv show, or play so they would sort of plug it. I couldn't figure out why she was there.

I agree. There are two MTS syndication packages, season 1-5, 11, 12, and 6-10, the more common being 6-10. MeTV needs to run the rarely-seen 1-5,11,12, which includes the B/W episodes. Then maybe they'd have some success with it. I have no idea why the syndicator (Paramount/Viacom) divides these episodes this way. I'd have made it 1-5 and 6-12, or 1-7 and 8-12. The 1-7 and 8-12 makes sense, since that would be a Bryant Park/California split. They should put it in place of Our Miss Brooks (which must be having some success, inexplicably).

CBS Television Distribution has pulled those MTS episodes from syndication and they are currently unavailable to MeTV or any other stations. 380 MTS episodes were produced, but only 148 are available for syndication. Hopefully this will change in the future.

This may mean they were never formatted on DVD. In any case it's not good news...

This syndication package has changed over the years. The original, common package, which started with the first color season (6), originally contained around half of season 11 (covering all of the Chip/Polly elopement arc, plus one more episode about Ernie fooling Uncle Charley using the power of suggestion). TVLand had this package years ago. I think, even longer ago, Odyssey (Hallmark's predecessor) network had access (somehow) to all the color episodes. Odyssey heavily edited these episodes, with episode length around 20 minutes.

One other unlikely option would be to commercially release the color seasons on DVD. A problem with this is that there are a fair number of musical performances, which almost always are troublesome on DVD releases. It'd really be great to see decent, full length episode releases (somehow) for the last 2 seasons. They are generally unavailable, anywhere--auction sites all seems to be sourced back to the Odyssey showings--it would appear no one (who sells, anyway) thought to tape showings from Nick (which I think at some point aired episodes from the 1-5 and 11-12 package).
