RIP.
I always enjoyed his performances and he seemed like a nice guy. It has been a rough week losing all of these entertainers.

RIP. I didn't know much about the man, but what brief glimpses I did see hinted that there was a lot of the gentle soul that was "Father Mulcahy" in Mr. Christopher.
One last kick from 2016, I guess.

"M*A*S*H" co-star Loretta Swit released the following statement to Eyewitness News: "Our dear Bill and his goodness are a great argument for there being a heaven. I never heard him complain or lose his temper. Everyone adored him. A great sense of humor and a great humanitarian. He became TV's quintessential padre as Father Mulcahy on 'M*A*S*H.' It was the most perfect casting ever known. He was probably responsible for more people coming back to the church. If God is nigh, then surely he or she will welcome Bill with open arms." |

The Father Mulcahy character always came across as a creepy pedophile to me. I couldn't stand him. Then when I joined the Army and met real Army chaplains, I couldn't stand him even more. Army chaplains are some of the scummiest people I've ever met in my life.
That being said, William Christopher was a pretty good actor and a good man. He will be missed. |

The character was just plain weird to me. Especially the later seasons. The last 3 or 4 seasons he seemed like a jerk as well. No disrespect intended.
