About "Here's Lucy" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I cannot find a thread or forum for "Here's Lucy," only "The Lucy Show."

I think "Here's Lucy" was the last TV series that Lucielle Ball did before completely retiring from being in any sitcom.

From what I recall, the series finale had Lucy's character and her boss Mr Mooney in their office reminiscing about the adventures they had in their business and in their lives and there were flashback scenes of different episodes and by the end of the show, Lucy amd Mr Mooney closed the door to to the office and left the building for good because the business was going out of business .
I found it a rather sad episode.
However my main question is about Lucy's character's job. She was some kind of secretary but she must have made a lot of money to be able afford the home she had. In one episode in which teen idol, Donny Osmond guest starred as himself , Lucy was in her living room which was very spacious and expensively furnished when Donny Osmond visited since he had a crush on "Kim," Lucy's daughter .
I just wondered what job Lucy Carmichael had
There was never really an episode in which she worried about paying rent.
Also, what exactly did Mr Mooney do? He apparently was a business owner, but what kind of business?

She did Life With Lucy after Here's Lucy.

It's considered a 70s show, so that's where you'll find it.

Lucille Ball was Lucy Carter and Gale Gordon was Harry Carter on "Here's Lucy." Lucy Carmichael and Mr. Mooney are characters on "The Lucy Show."

It's TV, so of course they had a beautiful house. Lucy Carter was a widow so I've always assumed that her husband's insurance paid for the house when he died. He may have left behind other assets for Lucy and the children too. Since Harry was Lucy's brother-in-law and an uncle to the children, he would have looked after them too especially since he had no wife and children of his own. Harry owned an employment agency.

Yipe, I think everyone here is mixing up the answers with the questions. Answers about Here’s Lucy are given to questions about Lucy Show. Gotta get the shows straight, different characters and different “histories” to each of the characters in both TV series. Yes, same actors, but that ain't what the questions were about. Oh well, my advise is to watch both series and you’ll have all your questions answered.

Back in the day on TV a lot of times they either made the people look like they lived better than their means OR they made them look much more poor (Honeymooners) than they really were!

Another great example is That Girl’s Ann Marie, a supposedly struggling actress in NY City living in a giant lavish (relatively speaking) apartment and not only that wearing the latest in fashion mod clothes of the day. Her wardrobe alone would have put her in the poor house, much less paying for her giant apartment. I’m currently watching That Girl again, I really like this series until it went mad lib in it’s last season. But it's Hollywood so to be expected and ignored.

But this has pretty much always been true (people living in houses much too expensive for their supposed means) in movies and in TV series. I often watch a movie and these people are living in mansions yet the people in them don’t ever seem to have a job. Where do they get these free mansions to live in? Like I say, "it's a TV show" or "it's a movie" that's how or why.
