Eek #BREAKING: Growing Pains Dad & TV Host, Alan Thicke Has Died. #RIP

http://www.tmz.com/2016/12/13/alan-thicke-dead/

TV icon Alan Thicke has died ... TMZ has learned.

We're told Alan had a heart attack while he was playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter. He was transported to Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center around noon today, and pronounced dead there.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... a company that recovers organs was contacted, so some of Thicke's organs could be donated.

He's survived by his 3 sons -- Robin, Brennan and Carter ... and his wife, Tanya.

The Canadian born actor was most famous for his role as Jason Seaver, the dad on the '80s sitcom, "Growing Pains." Most recently, he was on the Netflix reboot, "Fuller House."

He also hosted game shows, talk shows, and wrote several famous TV show theme songs for "Diff'rent Strokes," "Wheel of Fortune" as well as "Growing Pains."

Alan was 69.

Back in January of this year, I watched all seven seasons of Growing Pains and I gotta say, Alan Thicke was the best part of that show.

Rest in Peace, Alan Thicke

69 just seems way too young to die nowadays. He should have had more time.

He doesn't look 69. I keep seeing him in those IRS commercials.

When I was a kid I never realized how handsome he was.

He and his first wife Gloria Loring wrote some legendary theme songs.

Yes, it just seems too young. Wow, we just never know when our number is coming up.

I just saw him the other day hosting a special about the 80's TV era for the Reelz channel. This is a shock.

Beloved television star Alan Thicke has died at age 69, ET can confirm.

The celebrated Canadian actor, best known for his role as patriarch Jason Seaver on the '80s sitcom Growing Pains, suffered a heart attack while playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter. He was pronounced dead at Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank, California.

Burbank fire officials confirm to ET that at noon on Tuesday they received a call from the Pickwick Ice skating rink to transport a male needing medical assistance to St. Joseph's.

Thicke recently appeared on season two of Fuller House, as well as the pilot episode of NBC drama This Is Us.

He is survived by wife Tanya Callau and three sons, Brennan, Robin, and Carter.

Wow, that's a shock. Heard him on The Lebatard Show just last week and he sounded great. Growing Pains is my favorite show of all time and he's a big reason why. He'll be missed. RIP Alan Thicke.
