Default Johnny Carson tonight (Sat., 12/10)

I thought I'd put a note here because it repeats on Antenna TV at 1:30 am ET tonight. A 1972 show with Ed Sullivan, James Garner, and Bruce Dern - all interesting. The most interesting section was with a guy named Terry Galanoy, who wrote a book about Tonight. He and Carson get into it about the accuracy of the book, and about whether TV should be about education or entertainment. Just a really interesting episode.

I wanted to watch this episode but I got busy doing stuff around the house and forgot all about it. I should have recorded it on my DVR. Oh well, it's not the first time I missed something on TV that I wanted to see and it probably won't be the last time. I am DVR'ing tonights episode with Bob Hope, Dean Martin, Charles Nelson Reilly, and Carol Wayne. Sounds like a good one, I'll watch it later.

The 90 minute Carson shows from the 70's are the classic ones, I don't care much for the 60 minute shows and seldom watch them.

I have to watch the episode soon. Bob Hope, Dean Martin, Charles Nelson Reilly, and Carol Wayne. With a classic line up like that you can't go wrong.

I have seen one of the 60 minute Carson shows, the one from 1985 when Jackie Gleason was a guest. During the show, Gleason smoked constantly but he seemed to be in a good mood and appeared to be in good health. It was sad watching the episode in retrospect knowing that Gleason would pass away less than two years later.

Dean Martin was excellent, a very talented guy who enjoyed having a good time. I loved his variety show back in the 60's & 70's. Would be nice if Antenna TV could swing a deal and start airing the Dean Martin shows too.

That would be cool! I think it would go over big, lots of people like Dean Martin!

I watched the show, when Dean Martin came on he acted like he was completely sloshed. Then later on he must have said a cuss word or two because the audio got muted. Then Carson must have said a cuss word also because the audio got muted again. It was crazy.

As for the entire show, it was OK but not as good as I thought it would be. Too much silliness, too much nonsense, very little that was really genuinely funny. I enjoyed seeing Carol Wayne, nice boobs.

Antenna TV ran this one about a year ago when they first started airing the Carson shows. The 1985 show where Jackie Gleason was a guest has been run a few times also. I don't know how many of the Carson shows Antenna TV has in their inventory, but I've noticed they've repeated a few.

I cut and pasted this from the Antenna Facebook page. It at least addresses your question.

I've noticed that the lastl several episodes of the Tonight show have been already "watched" by me. Do you only have so many and then repeat them? I'm really enjoying them!!

Victor J Veigel :Antenna TV has commented on posts similar to yours that they only have a limited amount available to them. Some might not be available because of music rights being either too expensive or cannot be cleared and also maybe the same for the guest stars that appeared on there...Antenna TV has stated they will be running new episodes or you could say new to the network episodes this year.
