Sal Barone played D.J. in the episode Life And Stuff. Anyone know why he was replaced by Michael Fishman?

On Goggle it says Sara Gilbert who played Darlene couldn't get along with the actor. Boo Hoo!!!

I read somewhere that after the pilot episode some time elapsed , Sal Barone grew too tall! Like some kids do, a sudden growth spurt. They thought he looked too old to play DJ!

Yes, the original DJ was replaced mainly because he went through a growth spurt. Who knows, though...there could have been conflicts with other cast members, lack of 'fitting in' as the character...lots of reasons. I think Michael Fishman was terrific as DJ - and Sara Gilbert as Darlene was irreplaceable!

The same thing happened to the actor who played Wally in the pilot episode of "Leave it to Beaver". Between the pilot and the start of the series he had a growth spurt that made him over 6 feet tall. So the part was re-cast with Tony Dow.

Yes! And I always thought Michael Fishman really looked like Roseanne !

Like he really could have been her Son!

Absolutely! I always thought that as well. They definitely made the right choice.
