I've noticed that the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has had different announcers throughout the years but from 1990 to 1991 I saw that the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade had a female announcer and I would like to know who the woman was who announced the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades in the 1990's? It seems the announcer sounded like Randi Thomas who used to promote the Hooked On Phonics commercials

I guess it can depend upon which TV station is doing the broadcast.
Channel 4 (NBC4 in NYC) has been the one major station that presents the coverage of the parade. Channel 2 also has presented coverage but not as traditionally as channel 4. I think Channel 2 has presented the parade some Thanksgivings and other Thanksgivings not. SOmetimes Channel 2 just presents a show that has certain singing performances from Broadway plays as an alternative to watching the Parade on Channel 4. I have seen female announcers but there is always more than one announcer and there are usually male and female announcers . BTW, not that you asked, but I have read some comments online that the Macy's Thanksgiving day Parade in NYC is not what it used to be. As of recent years it mostly has young performers from Nickelodeon or Disney Channel on the floats and only very young kids would be familiar with them. |
