Default What things make you feel nostalgic?

Nostalgia can make you feel many ways (sad, happy , yearning for the past) but its often nice to go back and revisit these things that make you feel nostalgia.

I'd like to share one thing that makes me nostalgic. That one thing is the place where i originally grew up : The Apartments. Over the years I've spent there , I have come to know many great people. We always had good times together and enjoyed each others company. Some I was more close to than others , but nonetheless , we were still friends. Even my uncle was friends with them too. Then over the past couple of years , things changed. So many of these people I knew and loved either died , moved away , or just quit talking to us all together. The apartments as I once knew it was a place full of happiness, fun , and comfort. These days , without the majority of them around, the apartments seem deserted and barren of life. So many of the people me and my uncle talked to were friendly and always up for a nice conversation. This place seems rather eerie and quiet these days without them around. There are still a few of our old friends around but not many. Nowadays, there are so many bad people and drug addicts up there , that the place where I once called home is now becoming a wasteland for trashy people and drug addicts to do bad things. This place doesn't have the same "comfy" or "cozy" atmosphere that it once had. Now , it has more of a "cold" or "unfriendly" atmosphere to it. The apartments don't feel the same anymore. So many people that were a part of my life growing up are now gone , which is upsetting. At least I can cherish the memories I made with these wonderful people and never forget them.

Anyways , thanks for taking the time to read this post and I appreciate it.

Sometimes I drive by the house I lived in for 26 years. I loved it there. We had horses , dogs, chickens. I loved taking care of them. We had beautiful trees. Now the house belongs to an Asian church and all of the trees are gone. This may sound weird but when I was little kid my dad would mow the lawn on Saturday mornings, now when I hear a lawn mower on Saturday or Sunday mornings I feel nostalgic.

Every time I put in a videocassette that I taped in the 90's or something that I would tape that was from my childhood...I get nostalgic.

To me, 1996 has been my year of nostalgia...I still wish I can go back to the 90's...because that was the year that I was a little serious in taping shows. I also found some older tapes that we taped when I was a kid in between 1988 and 1991. Some were long gone, but more than half of them I got to put on newer tapes.

I did tape-over a few shows when I was a kid and I get egged about it today, but my sister accidentally spilled pop on some and became unusable. I may make a cassette today and I hope to find more videocassettes somewhere.

Now I must play this...
