I was watching the Rugrats DVD Decade In Diapers and one of the special features it has is the very first episode of Rugrats simply titled Rugrats Pilot Episode and when I saw it I got curious to know more about it. Because I have always thought that the episode Tommy's First Birthday and the second episode were the debut episodes of Rugrats. The thing I noticed is that a different actress provided the voice of Tommy and not Elizabeth G. Daly and that the episode was made in 1990. Was this pilot episode of Rugrats used as a way for Nickelodeon to announce the debut of Rugrats in 1991?
