just finished watching this episode again on my DVD and watching the part where Mr. Drysdale introduces them to the telephone got me to thinking-what do you think the Clampetts reaction would be to todays telephones?

Reaction would probably be the same as my reaction, "Where do I talk into on this little thing?" I proudly still use a phone just like the Clampetts use except mine isn't beige.

how can you tell WHAT color their phone is if that episode's in black-and-white!

I hope you know the Beverly Hillbillies is also a color show starting with the 4th season. Just yesterday I saw an episode and yes the phone is beige (desk phone, dialing type of the '60's) and in the kitchen they have 2 phones a yellow wall phone (dialing type) and a beige desk phone on the kitchen table. Sharp eye breeds keen observation.
