Angry New TVLand schedule not good for our Bunch

Has anyone seen the new TVLand schedule starting June this year? You're gonna have to get up pretty early in the morning to watch the Bunch...7:00 A.M.!!!!!!!!!!

What's up with that? No more double or even single shots in the afternoons or primetime? Meanwhile, Andy Griffith and the Beaver managed to land on their feet after this reshuffle (as usual). TVLand just recently launched our Bradys, too. I can't believe they're already sending them out to pasture (you know, the old crack-of-dawn or post-midnight timeslot).

If that new schedule is correct, I don't think it will last for long. I have a hard time believing that "Dennis the Menace" will draw more viewers than the Bradys. Give it two months, and TV Land will move the Bradys to a better spot.

Grr What makes me mad is that they didn't COMPLETELY take it off...they're taking off a far more better show, "Laverne & Shirley". I'd take Donna Reed and Dennis any day over Brady Bunch, which has been on TBS, N@N, and now TV Land. Besides, if TV Land drops it there is a 90% chance of another network picking it up soon afterward,.

Polls don't matter to networks adn to people's opinions. In my opinion, the Brady Bunch was a corny show (IMO, don't do a witch trial for me like they did to poor Victoira-oops OT). And networks don't care how many people love the show..ratings count. THey did this to "Laverne & Shirley"...it was on 3 times a day, then it was cut down to 1 time. So it's not like they're targeting the BB.

Uhhhh....who DOESN'T think the show was corny?? That's the point of watching it for many ppl. And polls ARE about ppl's opinions. That's the point of polls. But n e ways, I don't think it'll last long. They will see the error of their actions. Or they should, who knows...

No poll can ever be correct if not everyone in the world takes it lol. I meant people's personal opinions. Just because so and so likes it doesn't mean I have to. And polls don't matter to networks, it's all money and ratings.

"The Brady Bunch" is the second most successful show of all time in syndication (behind "I Love Lucy"). There's a reason it is so successful. Corny, yes, but repeatedly watchable. It's going to be a long time before it goes away, if ever.

Talking

I saw an interview last night with a woman who runs a Brady Bunch web site (forgot the name, damn it). Anyway, she said that The Brady Bunch was one of Nick-at-Nite's highest rated shows. She said that even when they tried the shows from the '80s like Facts of Life or Family Ties, they didn't hold a candle to TBB ratings. I'm wondering, then, why they moved it to TVLand. Probably some political or financial crap.

Alot of people watch TBB now almost for the same reason they watched it in the early '70s. From 1969 to 1974 (Woodstock to Watergate) our country was in heated social/political/economic turmoil. A silly, predicable show like TBB was a nice escape while others preferred the more realistic Norman Lear shows.

Yes, TBB is campy, corny, etc, but who cares? It ain't Shakespeare. Most of today's so-called hip shows are garbage as well, but the only reason they're on the air is because of the sex and cursing.

All of this is true. The Brady Bunch is very corny but I still like it. Like you said its a whole lot better than most of the current sitcoms.

"Gilligan's Island". In fact there was an awards ceremony I believe by an organization, first place was given to Gilligan, second to Brady. I just like how the new schedule is going into a new way. They should put it in a block with Leave it to Beaver, but still limit it to *one* episode a day because it takes only two months too go through the entire run of the show.
