There seems to be quite a discussion going on in the "Brady Bunch" forum in regards to which scenes are cut out by the syndicators. All this has me wondering (no pun intended!) which scenes are omitted for the syndicated airings of TWY, especially on N@N and now ABC Family.
A note I gathered from the N@N airings: 1. Episode #83, "Private B***head", had some conversation between Jack and Wayne after Jack found out his oldest son had joined the Army. Wayne's friend Dave "Wart" Wartshafter (sp?) is in the kitchen in this scene. It was right before Wayne says "Dad ..." Also, outside the principal's office where Wayne and "Wart" are seated, Wart's quote about him and Wayne being "valedorians" (valedictorians? LOL!!!) was deleted. Also, after the scene shifts from the school to the house after it is discovered Wayne skipped school the N@N editors took out Wayne's response to the effect of "We were going to go to school, but decided not to." Some notes from the ABC Family airings: 1. In Episode #6, "Dance With Me", footage is restored from N@N when the social studies professor is discussing waste. A slide of a big freeway interchange (cloverleaf) is up, and he says, "Where have all the flowers gone?" Also present in the scene where Kevin confronts Lisa Berlini after she accepted a date with Brad Gaines was the narrator's quote "I had seen that look before, when Mom put our cocker spaniel to sleep.", which was not present on N@N. 2. In Episode #24, "Summer Song," the footage of the camera panning Teri from the feet up (the song "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys begins) is deleted on ABC Family, something N@N did not do. 3. In Episode #47, "Growing Up," after Wayne comes home and parks his car behind Dad's in the driveway (within a foot!), part of Jack's response is deleted on ABC Family, while N@N let it slide. |
