Was Carrie Underwood's song I Told You So a cover of a Randy Travis song? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I was listening to my copy of Carrie Underwood's album Carnival Ride and I discovered that Carrie Underwood's song I Told You So is actually a cover of a Randy Travis song and I was surprised to find a version of I Told You So where Randy Travis actually duets with Carrie Underwood but on my copy that version is not featured and the version that I have of I Told You So is a solo version with Carrie Underwood with Vince Gill doing background vocals. Was the Randy Travis duet version of I Told You So released later when Carrie Underwood's Carnival Ride album became a huge seller?. Randy Travis's version of I Told You So is wonderful and I didn't even know Carrie Underwood covered it

Yes Carrie Underwood did a wonderful cover of I Told You So, though I still like Randy Travis' original version best. Yes Carrie and Randy's duet of the song was released after her cover version had been out. If I remember it was recorded live at the Grand Ole Opry or some music awards show but I'm not sure anymore. I'd have to look that up.
