Pop singer Lady Gaga will headline the Super Bowl halftime show in February, the National Football League said on Thursday. The six-time Grammy Award winner known for songs such as "Bad Romance" and "Born This Way," will take the stage on Feb. 5 in Houston, the NFL said in a statement. This will be Gaga's second time performing on the Super Bowl stage, after having sang the U.S. national anthem at the NFL's championship game last February in San Francisco. The Super Bowl is the most-watched event on U.S. television drawing more than 100 million viewers and previous halftime headliners include Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Katy Perry and the Rolling Stones. Last season's halftime show was headlined by British rock band Coldplay and included appearances by R&B superstars Beyonce and Bruno Mars. |

When will the NFL get Metallica as the Halftime show...when the Browns are in it?
I'm sorry, but I won't watch the Super Bowl until the Cleveland Browns are in it... which is never! |

I wouldn't listen to Gaga if she was singing for free at my local Walmart.

Why did the Super Bowl choose Lady Gaga to headline it's halftime show this year? It seems like an odd choice for a halftime show. I have never understood why the halftime shows of the Super Bowl have gone downhill and when they became solo concerts. The Super Bowl should give it's halftime shows a whole new look and have a variety of many different singers and bands because that's what made the Super Bowl halftime shows a very big affair to watch. I bet Lady Gaga was chosen because she is probably gonna perform a mini concert of songs from her new cd Joanne which was released last year but I think they should do better with the Super Bowl halftime shows in the future

Lady Gaga's Halftime Set is Most-Watched in Super Bowl History
by Joey Nolfi 2/17/17 Mother Monster just scored one of the biggest touchdowns of her career. The NFL announced Friday that Lady Gaga’s Feb 5. Super Bowl LI halftime show has become the most-watched musical event and the most-watched Super Bowl halftime performance of all time via broadcast and digital channels. Approximately 118 million viewers tuned in to watch Fox’s live broadcast — which included renditions of past and current hits, including “Bad Romance,” “Poker Face,” “Born This Way,” and “Million Reasons” — on Super Bowl Sunday, while an estimated 150 million unique views have since accumulated across NFL’s digital platforms, including NFL.com, NFL Mobile, Twitter, YouTube, and Giphy. “We were thrilled to collaborate with Lady Gaga — one of the most talented and versatile performers in the world,” said Mark Quenzel, NFL Network’s SVP of programming and production, in a statement. “Through her incredible music, choreography and unifying message, Lady Gaga created a unique performance that will be remembered for years to come.” Through Feb. 17, Gaga’s 13-minute Super Bowl gig has been viewed just under 25 million times on the NFL’s YouTube channel, with the 30-year-old pop icon’s upload of the same performance netting a further 3.2 million plays. As the production played out on live television, around 2.2 million real-time tweets using the #PepsiHalftime show hashtag were posted. Roughly 5.1 million tweets regarding Gaga’s act were shared leading up to, during, and in the first 10 minutes after the telecast. Facebook activity pertaining to the event pulled in more than 49 million video views and over 5 million reactions, comments, and shares. Sales for Gaga’s discography also rose drastically following the Super Bowl performance. Her latest studio album, Joanne, shot from No. 66 to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 almost three months after it became her fourth consecutive No. 1 album in the U.S., moving around 70,000 album-equivalent units in its 16th week in release. The superstar notched three more albums on the chart dated Feb. 25: 2008’s The Fame (No. 6), 2011’s Born This Way (No. 25), and 2013’s Artpop (No. 174). After including “Million Reasons” as part of her halftime show set, the Joanne single tied the Billboard Hot 100 record for the chart’s highest-ever re-entry upon rocketing to No. 4 this week. The song marks Gaga’s first top 10 hit since Artpop‘s lead single “Applause” hit the same peak almost three years ago. http://ew.com/music/2017/02/17/lady-...musical-event/ |

I actually enjoyed this halftime show. I was singing along! I'm not a huge Lady Gaga fan but I like some of her music.
