Default Does anyone like or get the Monster Cereals by General Mills?

Now that October is soon starting and Halloween will soon be around the corner General Mills will soon release a special Halloween tradition by having their Monster Cereals series and I would like to know if you remember eating the Monster Cereals? The General Mills Monster Cereals for those of you who might be new to them are the following cereals
1. Franken Berry
2. Boo Berry
3. Count Chocula
Of the three cereals in the series Count Chocula is my favorite with Boo Berry in second place

I saw these in Walmart last week. I didn't know they were still being made. I liked Count Chocula as a kid, but I don't remember trying the other two. I use to like the commercials too.

Boo Berry was added later after Count Chocula and Franken Berry were made and each cereal used to come with a mascot figurine as a prize and with each box of the Monster Cereal that you would buy had a different figurine in the set. My uncles used to like the Monster Cereals series and would buy them every October and my uncle used to memorize the Franken Berry commercial by heart as well. I'm surprised that the Monster Cereals are still popular and my mom buys them at Walmart at a good price and they are even cheaper when Walmart puts them on clearance when Halloween is over

As a kid in the ‘80s, I loved Count Chocula, Franken Berry and Boo Berry. Then in the late ‘80s, I tried Yummy Mummy and loved it as well. Boo Berry is probably my ultimate favorite though. Then Yummy Mummy went away and about ten years ago I did research and found out about Frute Brute from the ‘70s.

A couple years ago they brought Fruit Brute (now spelled ‘Frute Brute’) and Yummy Mummy back, HOWEVER, they were not the same flavor they had been before. Brute was now a cherry flavored cereal and Mummy was an orange flavored cereal. So people who tried them thinking they were trying the original flavors were wrong… and it’s a shame. I recall really liking Yummy Mummy and it appears I’ll never have the original flavor again.

I bought the Target retro boxes two years in a row and have them on display. Plus, I have magnets of all five monster cereals on my fridge.

WOW! I didn't know either that they still made them! Same here,I liked Count Chocula as a kid, and I liked Franken Berry a little bit!

The commercials were adorable! The one where Boo Berry frightened Count Chocula and he jumped in Frankenberry's arms!

Never really got into them, I just stick to my favorites like Fruity Pebbles, Cookie Crisp and Cinammon Toast Crunch.

Cool

The only one I liked was Count Chocula. Always reminded me of "The Count" from Sesame Street!

I dunno if I would want them now....Most cereal tastes like crap now... Lower sugar and sodium are just part of the reason

I've never tried any of the monster cereals, but I'm familiar with Count Chocula, Franken Berry and Boo Berry. I never heard of Frute Brute or Yummy Mummy.

I remember the cereals Quisp and Quake which first appeared on store shelves around 1968 or 69 if I recall correctly. Also a cereal named Kaboom which debuted about the same time, late 1960's.

Right now, my favorite cereals are Apple Jacks, Capn' Crunch, and Corn Pops. I also like Cinnamon Toast Crunch but I haven't bought it recently.

Hi Retro Lee!

I used to love Quisp as a little girl ! Quisp and Quake were the same flavor but different shapes! I preferred Quisp because of the little pink spaceman! Right now my favorite cereal is good old fashioned Corn Flakes!

Hi Bonnie,

Good seeing you here and chatting about favorite breakfast cereals. Makes me hungry, I think I'll have Apple Jacks for breakfast tomorrow.
