"Chicago Med" Stages "Hill Street Blues" Reunion

Daniel J. Travanti has booked a guest-starring role on an upcoming episode of "Chicago Med", EW has learned exclusively.

The "Hill Street Blues" alum will portray an older patient whose son and trophy girlfriend are in a battle over his care.



The casting marks a reunion for Travanti with executive producer Dick Wolf, whose first full time writing job was on "Hill Street Blues".

“Daniel is a very talented actor with a great body of work, starring in one of the greatest American TV shows of all time, Hill Street Blues,” says EP Diane Frolov. “We’re very lucky to have had to work with him.”



"Chicago Med" returns Thursday, Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
