Default Season 7 coming December 13

That just so happens to be my birthday, although I'm not really a fan of this show and don't plan to buy it.

And, it's 3 days before my birthday!

Hopefully now they can finish other shows like Diff'rent Strokes and Mr. Belvedere.

^and "Rhoda".

Also, a complete series set for "Archie Bunker's Place" would be nice.

"Newhart" is a great show and I do plan to buy Season 7, but truthfully, I'm not sure if I want Season 8. They had new writers that season and in a word, they were awful. The show became a live action cartoon with pretty much everyone in the cast (except Bob) acting like nitwits (even Joanna at times), with ridiculous storylines like baby Stephanie running the TV station, or George inventing a board game that becomes a sensation. Larry and the Darryls became about the most normal of the townspeople. Too bad a great show like "Newhart" had to wrap-up with such idiotic episodes.

^I've not seen a couple episodes from season 8 so it'll be a treat for me. At least, I know the finale is great.

I'm not very fond of season 7 (this was actually the season with new writers, producers, etc.), but somehow I found season 8 to be a slight improvement in quality, though not to the same level as the first six seasons.

When is Season 8 coming??? They NEED to finish "Newhart"!

I'm also hoping that Shout! Factory dives into the Norman Lear vaults and come up with "One Day at a Time" and/or "Archie Bunker's Place" as complete series sets, and although I like ABP, I want a complete set of ODAAT first.

They dropped the ball a bit with the season 7 release, five edited episodes, whereas three are syndicated prints and two have music edits where scenes are shortened.

Syndication cuts:
Episode 1 - Town Without Pity
Episode 6 - I Came, I Saw, I Sat
Episode 10 - George and the Old Maid

Music edit:
Episode 17 - Buy, buy Blues - mental patient singing "All of me" removed
Episode 21 - Murder at the Stratley - Michael and Stephanie singing "My favorite things" removed
