Default Bought Season 2 in Region 2

While it's been mentioned in passing, about the music not being replaced in the region 2 DVD, it meant little since we're all (or mostly) region 1
users. With DVD on the downside I took a look at region free players on Amazon and prices have fallen dramatically. So I took the plunge and ordered one and the region 2 set. Well worth it! Outside of something new form of HD DVD release (additional seasons of "fixed" seasons with original music) this a godsend.
S2 is one of my favorites and it always vexed me to have to chose between watching VHS tapes of TV land over a decade old at this point (lower video quality, some tracking issue) with most of the music or the US DVD release with crisp, clear video but almost no music. Also of note the actual DVD's had gorgeous artwork unlike the plain silver that was used for the remaining US releases. So if you've ever wondered "if it worth it?" the answer is yes, it's a "must own" IMO if you're a Happy Days fan. If they ever release 5 & 6 the same way I'd snatch them up in a heartbeat.
As a bonus discovered there's ton of stuff available period in Region 2 not released in the US, so this was a great "get" for me.

I've often wondered about region free players. There are a couple shows I'd be willing to buy in a different region just because of the music.

With "Happy Days", the music plays so much a part of the storytelling and it needs to be included no matter the cost.

I haven't purchased a single Happy Days set yet, but is it the same scenario for seasons 3 and 4? And are these from the UK or Germany? I recently bought season 3 of the Nanny and seasons 8 and 9 of Roseanne from Germany and they have all the licensed music that was cut. I love it.

UK. The music for the US releases of 3 & 4 was largely left alone so I can't compare there. It's 2, 5 & 6 that have been butchered for US release. As far as I know 5 & 6 haven't been released in any other region and of course, I am missing most of my TV land Tapes for those seasons.

Only Seasons 1-3 have been released in the UK. Seasons 1-4 have been released in France and Italy so I wonder what those sets are like. However, I've heard the international releases of Season 2 also replace Rock Around the Clock with Happy Days even though most of the other music is intact.
