"Chicago Med" Adds Mekia Cox as Dr. Charles' Daughter and [Spoiler]'s New Love Interest

Mekia Cox is joining "Chicago Med" in a recurring role as Robin Charles, the daughter of Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt), TVGuide.com has learned.

Robin is an epidemiologist who's brought to Chicago Med to assess a difficult case, and her arrival there "will further complicate her already strained relationship with her father."



Also complicating matters? According to "Chicago Med" showrunners Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov, Robin strikes up a relationship with Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell), which stirs up some "mixed feelings" in Dr. Charles.

"Connor does not come from a happy family life, so Charles will question Connor's ability to have a healthy relationship, having not seen one growing up," Frolov tells TVGuide.com.



"Chicago Med" premieres Thursday, Sept. 22 at 9/8c on NBC.

Cox is also starring on Season 2 of ABC's "Secrets and Lies" this fall.
