Busy pages/Site suggestion

Site suggestion:

Could we get the blog headlines and the "new on DVD..." boxes off EVERY page?

I can appreciate them on the home page, and the forum lists, but once selected a forum and thread, it get VERY tedious twiddling my rat's wheel 5 -to- seven notches to get down the page to where the working content can be seen.

Unless the page doesn't load properly then I can usually go to the content in about 2 seconds. I also never use the scroll wheel on the mouse, much slower that way.

"Two seconds!" My gawd that is a horribly long time to get to the content. That is about the performance I expect on dialup, my ten year old set.

The vertical slider may be faster for many, but being old and with the shakes, I have quivvered over the mouse buttons just wrong and closed down FFx. The wheel work better for me. I am grateful the site software is relatively platform INdependent and I was able to enroll.

No, if those two boxes were OFF these thread lists and thread pages, then the sought content would be right there upon fetch. And I have set the preference for newest first, which is useful on a busy thread.
