Thomas Gibson Suspended after Kicking a "Criminal Minds" Producer
by Chancellor Agard 8/11/16 "Criminal Minds" actor Thomas Gibson has been suspended from the long-running CBS crime drama following a physical altercation with a writer-producer. The actor allegedly kicked one of the scribes recently during a disagreement over the show’s creative direction, EW has confirmed. A source with knowledge of the situation told EW that Gibson “instinctively” booted the other man in the shin after an argument escalated. “There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement,” Gibson said in a statement released to EW. “I regret that it occurred. We all want to work together as a team to make the best show possible. We always have and we always will.” In addition to his suspension from playing Special Agent Aaron Hotchner, Gibson will no longer direct an episode in the show’s upcoming 12th season. The show reportedly remains in production while Gibson’s future with the series is “under review,” according to Deadline, which first reported the news. It’s unclear when Gibson will return to work. A rep for ABC Studios, which co-produces the drama with CBS Studios, would not comment. This isn't the first time that Gibson has engaged in troubling behavior on set. Both Deadline and TMZ are reporting that he previously pushed an assistant director in 2010 and underwent anger management classes as a result. http://www.ew.com/article/2016/08/11...bson-suspended |

Thomas Gibson Fired in Wake of On-Set Altercation
by Michael Ausiello August 12, 2016 Thomas Gibson‘s two-episode suspension from "Criminal Minds" has become a full-fledged firing. In a statement, ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios — which co-produce the CBS procedural — said, “Thomas Gibson has been dismissed from Criminal Minds. Creative details for how the character’s exit will be addressed in the show will be announced at a later date.” "I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last 12 years," Gibson said in a statement. "I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won't be possible now. I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have." http://tvline.com/2016/08/12/thomas-...red-season-12/ |

"Criminal Minds'" Thomas Gibson Details Kick That Got Him Fired, Hopes "Good Work Is What People Will Remember"
by Matt Webb Mitovich September 22, 2016 Thomas Gibson has for the first time shared his take on the on-set incident that resulted in him first getting suspended, and then fired, from CBS’ "Criminal Minds", after an 11-year run. Aaron “Hotch” Hotchner’s portrayer tells People.com that on July 26, while filming the second episode of the upcoming 12th season, he questioned a line of dialogue, but was overruled by co-executive producer/writer Virgil Williams. Later, when Gibson was relating the differing of opinions to castmates, Williams “came into that room and started coming towards me. As he brushed past me, my foot came up and tapped him on the leg. If I hadn’t moved, he would have run into me,” the actor says. Following said “kick,” “We had some choice words, for which I apologized the next day, and that was it. It was over,” Gibson says. “We shot the scene, I went home — and I never got to go back,” suspended as he originally was for two episodes, before eventually being fired, as announced on Aug. 12. As a result, the “temporary” special assignment that was to take Hotch off-screen for two episodes will somehow dovetail into the character’s permanent exit. Paget Brewster, who was already on her way back to the CBS drama as Emily Prentiss, to temporarily cover for Hotch during his absence, was subsequently upgraded to series regular status. CBS isn’t saying how exactly Hotch will be written out. “It seems like they’re trying to erase me from the show,” Gibson told People.com. “My pride and reputation are hurt, but in the end I know the good work is what people will remember. I just need more opportunities to do good work and be a good guy.” http://tvline.com/2016/09/22/crimina...ick-explained/ |

And yet CBS gave chance after chance to Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men for even worse misbehavior. Honestly, it's time like these that I'm glad I don't watch CBS. I really wish people would start boycotting CBS in large masses. That way, Leslie Moonves and his cronies can finally be removed from power and their reign of terror can finally be ended.
